Making and receiving calls

Using a phone number inside the CRM, and where recordings go.

Calling puts a real phone number inside the CRM: you ring people from a contact's page, and calls to that number arrive here.

Getting a number

Your plan includes a number of phone lines. Your platform provider buys the number for you and it arrives configured — you do not need an account with a phone company.

Making a call

A Call button appears next to any contact with a phone number. Two ways it can work, set under Settings → Calling:

  • In the browser — you talk through your computer's microphone.
  • Bridge to your phone — the CRM rings your own mobile first, and when you answer it dials the contact. Useful where the office internet is not reliable enough for voice.

Afterwards

Every call is logged against the contact with its length and outcome, and recordings — where you have them switched on — are attached to the same record.

Receiving

Calls to your CRM number ring whoever is marked available. If nobody picks up, it follows the fallback number you set.

Recording calls has legal requirements that differ by country, and in many places both parties must be told. Check what applies to you before switching it on.
